Where possible, we will offer our conveyancing services for both residential and commercial properties on a fixed fee basis. The fee provided is dependent on the complexity of the transaction, but in most cases, our fees would be as follows: -
Freehold
£0 - £249,999 - £1000 - £1300.
£250,000 - £499,000 - £1300 - £1700.
£500,000 + - Price on request.
Leasehold
£0 - £249,000 - £1200 - £1600.
£250,000 - £499,000 - £1600 - £2000.
£500,000 + Price on request.
The prices set out above are subject to VAT. In addition, there will also be disbursements payable on a transaction. Our charges for search fees are typically in the region of £400 - £450. There will also be Land Registry fees payable, further details of which you can find here, and Stamp Duty or Land Transaction Tax depending whether the property is in England or Wales. Depending on complexity, the charges for Wills are usually in the region of £175 plus VAT.
The charges for estate administration are charged at the hourly rate of the Solicitor undertaking the work. This will vary depending on the experience of the Solicitor with conduct of the matter, and typically, the hourly rate charges would be as follows: -
Partner/Senior Solicitor £190-£220.
Solicitor £155.
Trainee Solicitor/Paralegal £111.
All prices are subject to VAT. Unlike many other firms, we do not charge a percentage of the overall value of the estate upon completion of the estate administration. Where possible, we will also agree a cap on the hourly rate charged on the estate administration at the onset so the charges will be fixed.
The majority of work undertaken in these areas is charged on an hourly rate basis. The hourly rate charged will depend on the experience of the Solicitor undertaking the task. The hourly rates applicable in these areas is as follows: -
Partner/Senior Solicitor £190-£220.
Solicitor £155.
Trainee Solicitor/Paralegal £111.
All prices are subject to VAT. We can offer certain services on a fixed fee basis. For example, we can provide a fixed fee for a Divorce or for undertaking a task within the course of proceedings. We endeavor to make payment for our charges as flexible as possible and invite clients to set up standing orders and payment plans.
In an Employment Tribunal context, should a case proceed to a final hearing within an Employment Tribunal, the costs would likely be in the region of £10,000 - £15,000, but this would depend on the complexity of the individual case.
